A Promise Kept
When I first took office to represent the sensational Sixth District, I made a clear commitment to strengthen community spaces, invest in our youth, and deliver real improvements that residents could see and feel. One of the first priorities I was tasked with by the Friends of Creel Park was the long-overdue renovation of the Creel Park Community Center—a building with enormous potential to serve as a hub for learning, recreation, and connection.
Today, I’m proud to announce that on Thursday August 14, 2025 at 11:00 am we are officially cutting the ribbon and opening the doors to the newly renovated Creel Park Community Center! This project has been a labor of love—and a promise fulfilled. I know that our families, our seniors, and especially our young people need and deserve a modern, welcoming, and fully functional space right here in the heart of District 6, and I couldn’t be more proud that this promise was made and this promise was kept during my 1st term as your district 6 councilwoman.
What’s New at Creel Park Community Center?
The transformation includes:
- An upgraded community room & meeting space for after-school programs, workshops, and community events
- Enhanced accessibility and safety features throughout the facility
- Refreshed interior and exterior design that reflects the pride and culture of our community
- New technology and equipment to support learning, creativity, and collaboration
This is more than just a building—it’s a place where ideas will be shared, friendships will form, and the next generation of leaders will be nurtured. It’s a space that belongs to you.
Thank You, District 6
This accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without the support of our residents, community partners, and city staff who shared in the vision and helped bring it to life. Your voices, your advocacy, and your belief in what we can achieve together helped make this day a reality.
As we cut the ribbon and step into a revitalized future, I am filled with gratitude—and even more committed to building on this momentum. The Creel Park Community Center is just one example of what we can accomplish when we stay focused, work together, and never lose sight of the needs of the people we serve. It’s been an incredible four years and the best is yet to come!
Let’s celebrate this win and let it inspire us to keep pushing forward.
I hope to see you at the ribbon cutting—and on Nov. 4th I hope you’ll continue to support the work we’re doing to uplift every corner of the Sensational Sixth District by voting to re-elect me as your District 6 councilwoman.
